The Easter Money
A downloadable game
The Easter Money is a low stakes gambling game designed by Jane Friedhoff and Andy Wallace for his family's 2016 Easter party. Your goal is to end the game with the most money cards (or at least as much as you started with!).
Andy's family relishes their trips to Atlantic City and enjoys playing games at family gatherings. Each year for Easter, one of his uncles would design a new game for the family that almost always involved some ability to win money. When he couldn't do it for Easter of 2016, they asked Andy, the game designer of the family, to step in.
Andy asked his partner and fellow game maker, Jane, for help and they designed this game with a few goals in mind:
- Games of chance
- Low stakes gambling
- Decision making that does not require much calculation
- Stealing from other players (adds to the excitement!)
The resulting game played well at Easter and Andy's grandmother cleaned up with $18 of the $40 pot.
The illustrations on the color cards come from the New York Public Library's collection of public domain images.
